If You Like Please Share

If you’re already a European resident it’s cheaper for you to purchase an insurance for a backpacking trip inside Europe.

How long are you traveling for?

What you have to pay for an insurance depends on the duration of your trip. Some insurance companies issue backpacking insurance for either one month, six months or a year. While others have a more flexible policy duration like World Nomads. They cover durations from two days to one year.

What kind of activities will you be doing?

This is essential in terms of insurance coverage. For example: most insurance policies don’t cover open-water diving exceeding 18 meters. The key thing is you now know that you’ll be covered if anything goes wrong. Should you buy a travel insurance or not? How do you choose the right backpacking insurance for you? These are the questions I’ll be answering in this article. First of all, why do you need a backpacking insurance? Some travelers are reluctant to buy a travel insurance these days because it’s expensive or they think that they don’t need one. Let me tell you why you need a backpacking insurance: Think of it as an investment. There are so many cool activities to do while traveling and it can go wrong in a split second. You can choose from activities like trekking, diving, climbing and elephant riding. All of these are full of risks and having a travel insurance means that you can complete them without being worried. If you don’t buy a backpacking insurance you won’t be able to relax during your travels. You’ll be worried about your baggage, the food you eat, when crossing the street and the list goes on! If you do get involved in an accident, it’s extremely expensive to not own a travel insurance. Without an insurance you have to pay for hospital expenses and medical evacuation from your own pocket. The amounts vary, but in the end it might cost you several thousand dollars. Ask yourself these questions before you purchase a travel insurance:   Where are you traveling?

The cost of a backpacking insurance usually depends on which continent you’re going to. If you’re already a European resident it’s cheaper for you to purchase an insurance for a backpacking trip inside Europe.

Tips when choosing a travel insurance:

Cheap backpacker travel insurance doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the best in terms of service and making an insurance claim. So don’t get blinded by the price. Do your research and read reviews online before you make up your mind.

You should compare cash limits and try to find a suitable limit for you. It all depends on what you’ll be carrying in your backpack.
