Student Discounts On Your Airfare

February 5, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

One of the best ways for a student to get a discount on their airfare is to do the proper research on the internet. By finding different sites online to gather your information from, you are increasing your chances of getting a good student discount on your airfare tickets. Some of the things to take into consideration when purchasing your airfare on the internet is, where will you be purchasing your airfare from, what type of airfare will you be purchasing and where do you plan on flying into once you do purchase your airfare?

There are many popular, specified websites, strictly created for providing discounted services to college students and their faculty. Just keep in mind when attaining these student discounts, that this will mean that you may have very limited choices with your arrival and departure times. The student discounted savings you can receive by purchasing airfare on the internet can really turn out to be quite substantial in saving you money for your travels. You might even be able to find websites online that would allow you the ability to put in a bid for certain airfare tickets. By choosing to purchase one this way, you will also have a good chance of saving yourself some cash.

There are some downfalls of purchasing student discounted airfare tickets through bidding for them, one of those being, you may not have the ability of knowing which airline you are going through or what the times are for your flight, until the airfare tickets are actually purchased. Remember that if you purchase your airfare tickets during peak time, you will end up having to pay more for your airfare tickets because this is when everyone else is doing their traveling. If you purchase them at off peak times, then you are increasing your chances of finding a fairly priced discounted student airfare ticket, because there are not as many people flying during these times.

Another good way to get a cheaper price on your student discounted airfare would be to choose a less popular airport. These airports have the tendency of offering cheaper airfare costs to you, which will allow you to have more money to spend on other services that may be needed, once you get to your final destination. Another piece of advice would be to avoid paper ticket fees, pick an electronic ticket over a paper ticket, anytime you are given the option between choosing one or the other. Electronic tickets will give you the ability of not having to worry about keeping up with yet, another important piece of paper and you will find that the savings with electronic tickets are much better than with any other types.

Getting a good price on airfare can be a difficult task, to say the least. However, if you are a student or faculty member and you are preparing to purchase airfare tickets for your traveling purposes, you will more than likely get a really good student discount, which will make purchasing airfare tickets much more affordable for you.

The Best Airfare

February 4, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

You have many different options when it comes to choosing the best place to find the very best airfare prices. The important thing to do is to look around, do not just go with the first choice available to you that you may come across. Take the proper amount of time when doing the research so that you do not end up paying more for your airfare than you have to.

Turn on your computer and get ready because you will find that by researching airfares on the internet you will have an unbelievable amount of choices when it comes to finding an inexpensive airfare that best suits your abilities. Airfare can be totally outrageous, as most of you already know, but you do not have to settle for unfair airfare! Allow yourself the time that it will take so that you will then have the ability to go to different search engines and book the flight that is available to you at a bargain.

As long as you are not to picky when it comes to your availability, I have no doubt that you will come across an airfare that would be just right for you. Most people have to be bargain shoppers because of all of the other expenses we encounter in life everyday. Make sure that when you are attempting in choosing your flight you keep an eye out for different stops that might occur during your flight period, the more stops you will have to tolerate, the more likely it is that you will be getting some discounts here and there.

Even if it is a bit less convenient, the money that you have the ability of saving will be well worth any kind of waiting periods that you may have to endure. Either way it goes, you are still going to get to your destination, wether or not you have to make a few stops along the way or not. So many people are guilty of being impatient and what happens when you are impatient is that you have the potential of possibly regretting your impatience because good things can come to those who wait.

You do have the option of simply going to the airline of choice and choosing your airfare right there, on the spot. However, if you decide to get your airfare this way you need to remember that no doubt about it, you will be paying a much higher price. If you would just get online and do the researching, I bet you anything that you will soon be satisfied with the best airfare bargains that are available in no time at all. Most people are always in a rush and by rushing trying to find good airfare you will end up making a mistake and losing out on the great deals that they do have to offer to you. Ask a friend or family member which path they took in finding the best airfare, maybe they could send you in the right direction in hopefully finding a good priced airfare for your traveling experience.

Seven Spanish Phrases Every Tourist Should Know

February 4, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

You have decided to go to Spain for your vacation, and maybe you know quite a lot of Spanish. Yet many people have no knowledge of the Spanish language and you will need to understand a little bit before you go. English isn’t always widely understood and, because of this, there are seven Spanish phrases that every tourist should know.

1. Mañana = tomorrow. This is something you will get used to in Spain especially when you want something done. It means tomorrow, but it is used to show there is no urgency in having something completed.
2. ¿Me puede ayudar, por favor? = Could you help me, please? If you are ever in a situation where you need help, then this phrase will be very useful for you to get the help that you need.
3. ¿Habla/Hablas ingles? = Do you speak English? When you are in an area where everybody is talking Spanish, and you are not able to be understood, then you might need to find a person who speaks English.
4. Estoy enfermo/a and Necesito un medico = I am sick and I need a doctor. These are two phrases which might be used together, and for that reason, they are classed as one phrase. But it is something that you hope you will never need to ask or say.
5. ¿Cuánto cuesta = how much does this cost? If you are in the market then you will need to know the price of the item. If you are sick then you will also need to know the cost of the medical treatment.
6. ¿Dónde están los baños = Where are the toilets or if you are American, then it will be the bathroom. If you can’t find the local bathroom and can’t ask for them in Spanish, then try the local Fast Food Restaurant.
7. Estoy perdido/a = I’m lost. When you are in a foreign country for the first time, it is easy to get lost. If you are not sure how to ask for directions, then ask the hotel for a business card. If you do get lost, you can ask for directions using the business card. Give it to a taxi driver and they will take you back to your hotel.

February 3, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

For anyone who loves the advantages of being able to fly, then finding a cheaper airfare ticket is really an awesome feeling isn’t it. So many people delay their future air travel plans because they may not have the available funds for their expensive airfare, but if you do the proper research and look around you may be able to afford the airfare costs because there is a possibility you could get it at a much cheaper price.

The internet has many different options available for you when you are searching for cheaper airfare, you just have to know where to find it. Maybe someone you know has found cheaper airfare on the internet and they could give you the information that you need to help you in your search for much better airfare prices. However, they do not make it easy to find, if that were the case then noone would be paying these expensive prices for their airfare tickets, they would just all be enjoying the ability of flying at a more affordable cost and loving every minute of it.

Remember that planning for your trip and not being too picky are the two most important things to keep in mind when deciding on purchasing your airfare tickets. Too many people are more worried about departure times, returning dates, available seating, and no layovers, I guess that these people must enjoy paying exceptionally higher prices when doing their traveling. Flying more cheaply does not mean that you will not still have many different opportunities of enjoying certain luxuries, you will just have to take the time out to look in the right places for these kinds of great discounts that are available, either on the internet or by asking a family member or a friend that is experienced with air traveling.

If you are doing your planning and you run across an airline that is not normally talked about or not well known, then your chances of being able to choose that flight are really high and the cost difference will be enormous, when comparing it to some of the top airlines that are also available. Like I said before, if you are wanting a cheaper flight sometimes being picky can prevent you from taking the trip that you had hoped for. Keep in mind that being flexible when choosing which airline you can take and at what sort of schedule you would prefer, can really help your chances in finding a cheaper airfare for your planned vacation.

There are many advantages of finding airfare at a cheaper price. First of all, you will have more money to spend on your wonderful vacation. Also, having the assurance that the flight is actually going to be able to take place, because of not having to worry about the funds not being available for the trip that you were anticipating. It is just an overall much more satisfying feeling in knowing that you were able to fly to your destination, and at a very reasonable price.

Seven Facts You Should Know When Visiting Spain

February 3, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

There are seven facts you should know when visiting Spain and you should know about them before leaving your home for your vacation.

1. Electricity. Spanish plugs have 2 round pins and are 220V. You should consider what type of adaptor you need if you are taking electrical items with you. Also if you are taking a computer with you, get a transformer if your voltage is 110V as the different voltage can cause additional problems.
2. Crime. Spain is a fairly safe country to travel, but you do need to be aware of some of the scams that are happening; otherwise, you could end up losing all your money. Never put yourself in the position where your money or possessions could be taken from you. You might have a situation where a concerned person tries to help you and, in doing so, lifts your wallet from your pocket. Another scam concerns vehicles and the thieves try to convince you that you have a problem with your car. Once you stop and get out of the vehicle to see what the problem is, they remove anything valuable from inside the car. If you are a victim of crime then you should contact the national police. You can report any crime by telephone: 902 102112 or use the web www.policia.es
3. Embassies. In case of a problem, especially if you lose your passport, you will need to contact your Embassy. Most of the embassies are based in Madrid but some have offices in Barcelona and a few in Palma de Mallorca.
4. Money. Spain’s currency is the Euro €. You can find an ATM which allows you to use your Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards. You will need to check with your bank at home to see if there are any charges, as some will not only charge you for using their machine, but also for converting the money withdrawn from the bank account. You should be able to use your credit or debit card to pay for most purchases. You might be asked to prove your identity so make sure you have your passport with you.
5. Shopping. You will find many markets where you can barter for the goods you want to purchase. But in the stores there is no bartering. You will find that Spain is a great place to buy designer label clothing and textiles, leather, pottery, and crafts.
6. Health. If you are taken ill in Spain and need an ambulance then you should call 061 or go directly to the nearest casualty (urgencies) department at the hospital. You should have medical insurance as you will be expected to cover the cost of any treatment and then you will claim it back from the insurance company.
7. Driving. Be aware of thieves who will want to steal anything from your vehicle. Never leave anything of value in view, lock them away. If you want to rent a car and do not have a drivers license from a non EU country then you will need to have a 12 month International Driving Permit. Gas is expensive. You will drive on the right side of the road, and the speed limit is shown in km/h. If you drive a motorbike then you will need to have your headlights on at all time. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05%. Breath tests are becoming more common, and if you are found guilty you will find yourself facing a fine, and even losing your license. This will take place within 24 hours, and the fine will be up to €600. As a visitor you will be expected to pay 30% of the fine immediately when you are found guilty.
