Unique Culture in Thailand

September 12, 2016 by admin Leave a Comment

Thailand is also one of those countries which have many traditions which modern times fortunately have not affected. Thailand is renowned for its unique culture that has been notorious around the globe. Thai culture is especially well known for its distinctiveness. It is well worth noting that Thai culture has traditionally been handed down from one generation to the next.

Thai Classical Dance

The inspiring Thai culture includes inspiring local music and wonderful Thai dances. The culture furthermore includes of course its deep rooted Buddhist religion, martial arts, crafts and beautiful clothing.

Visitors to Thailand can experience Thai culture by witnessing one of the Thai classical dance performances. These classical dance performances are generally performed by gracious Thai ladies wearing beautiful Thai local costumes.

These special Thai dances are fortunately still popular throughout Thailand including with the present younger Thai generations. Most resort areas and many hotels frequently offer these special Thai culture dance shows for foreign visitors.

Thai Greeting

The unique Thai gesture of greeting another person, the Wai, is especially one of the greatest aspects of the culture. The Wai is when a person joins both hands to either head or chest level while bending their head slightly towards their hands.

This way of greeting is especially done when a younger person greets an older person and it indicated a sign of respect to their elders. Employees would also Wai their superior’s even if the supervisor or manager would be younger then themselves as the seniority of the other person would be respected.

Bangkok

Bangkok is the main city of Thailand and has been the Thai capital since the end of the eighteenth century and with several Sports Bar Bangkok to check international sports if you are a fan. Observing culture in Bangkok can be a great experience as the blend of modern times and traditions have created a one of a kind atmosphere. Bangkok still offers a package of culture which showcases Thai culture through numerous beautiful Thai Buddhist temples, interesting museums and many example of ancient Thai architecture.

Places to Visit in Bangkok

One of the best places in Bangkok to experience Thai culture is in the Sanam Luang area. Visitors can visit such Thai national landmarks such as the Grand Palace which includes the Emerald Buddha Temple and also offers visitors to see many other prime examples of Thai architecture at its best. A trip like this is much easier if you plan it with a travel agency.

Another location in Bangkok where one can enjoy and see Thai culture is at the famed Bangkok national museum. The large museum is located near to the Pra Pin Klao bridge in case you would like to visit the Bangkok National Museum.

The famous museum offers visitors and tourists an opportunity to view national treasures and unique Thai art pieces with some dating back as early as the late sixteenth century.

Worst Family Vacation Problems

August 30, 2016 by admin Leave a Comment

I found this great, funny, and informative article on Fox news that really puts a lot into perspective for when we travel with kids.

I know that I have been guilty of many of these, probably all of them at one point or another when travelling on family vacations with the kids. Family vacations give you a chance to make lifelong memories with your kids. Don’t let these top five family travel flubs spoil the fun.

Overpacking For Family Vacation

Taylor off the beaten pathWe’ve all been there: Your packing for the kids devolves into finding the largest bag on hand and stuffing it with anything they might possibly want or need — their 10 favorite board books, 14 pairs of socks, a ski jacket “just in case” (never mind that it’s mid September).

Instead of packing on the fly, get organized with a checklist.  Many accommodations have laundry facilities on site. And don’t be afraid to leave behind supplies that are readily available where you’re headed. There are diapers almost everywhere.

Overscheduling the Family at Destination

You go on vacation psyched to take your destination by storm, only to realize by 3 PM that the whole family is ready to drop and you haven’t even done half of what you’d expected.

The natural tendency when visiting a new place for a short time is to try to see everything there is to see as quickly as possible. But if you cram your schedule too full, you’ll miss the whole point of your vacation: to take a break.

Besides, with kids in tow, you’ll want to allow extra time for bathroom, snack and nap breaks, not to mention jetlag and serendipitous detours. Make sure your schedule is flexible enough to allow all of you time to relax and recharge.

Not Getting Out Off The Beaten Path

Most people drift toward the usual tourist stops, and for good reason. If a lot of vacationers keep going to the same place, it’s probably worth the visit.

But your vacation is your own, and you shouldn’t worry about going to the same old haunts just because they’re there.

If your family is having more fun at the public playground than you would at the famous museum up the road, it’s perfectly acceptable to skip the Egypt exhibit for some quality jungle gym time.

Ignoring The Fine Print, and Getting Scammed

When you’re excited about a vacation, it’s easy to get so wrapped up in a hotel or attraction’s flashy photos that you forget to read the fine print.

But in this case, sweating the small stuff ensures you’re a lot less likely to find surprises on your bills, in your seat assignments, and in your rental upgrades.

Nothing dampens vacation fun like finding out that your child doesn’t quite make the height requirement to ride a mule at the Grand Canyon, or that your hotel’s kids-eat-free policy applies only to kids under 6.

Skimping on Supplies For The Trip

Like shorts maybe? I once went for a 10 day holiday with just 2 pairs of shorts, in Mexico in July! Don’t forget that your family vacation involves some actual travel time.

Make sure you’ve got enough snacks and entertainment to keep hunger and boredom at bay, lest you face the terrors of a nine-hour flight with a starved and restless travel companion.

Bring a few light snacks and a couple of small, special new toys specifically for the flight or car ride to keep your kid (and you) content till you can answer “Are we there yet?” with “Yes!”

How To Make A Family Vacation The Best Ever

April 19, 2016 by admin Leave a Comment

A family travel adventure, when done correctly, could be the perfect way to give your family, social group or spouse one of the most memorable times of their lives. But to achieve this, it has to be done correctly. There are a few, sometimes overlooked, tips and factors that should be taken into consideration when planning such an adventurous trip.

You can hire Limousine Service so you can travel easily through the city. The party bus has a wet bar, TV and DVD player, leather seats, fiber optic lighting, and luggage space. Our party buses have all these amenities, plus surround-sound stereo to play your music, poles and railings above the seats for dancing, and a privacy shade between the driver and passengers.

Here are a few things to consider.

How To Make A Family Vacation The Best Ever

Your Destination: Of course, this should probably be one of the first things that you must consider when planning a travel adventure. Is your location of choice going to be some inland resort, a beach resort,  a suburb next to some hot tourist spots such as Dolly parton family theme park or even some wildlife area like an African safari?

Depending on the people that will be traveling with you and their objectives and fantasies, this should not be difficult to solve.

Duration of your Vacation: Your budget, time availability and other things should help you determine how long or short you want you travel adventure to last.

Planning this ahead of time, instead of letting it “fall into place” on its own, would save you a lot of time, money and headache in the long run.

Accommodation and where you will be staying: If you are visiting a city, this should not be much of a problem as you may have a whole range of hotels, motels and hostels to choose from. If you are visiting a popular spot in Nigeria soon, check out things to do in Lagos, you won’t regret it !

However, if you are visiting a suburb, rural area, or even the jungle (like during an African safari, etc) this should be taken care of way at the beginning of things. You sure don’t want to end up sleeping on a tree branch 10 feet high in an isolated African forest full of lions and tigers and …. (you get the picture 😉 ) also, the weather is very important, if you will take vacation during winter, make sure the accommodation provides you with hvac filters in case your furnace needs it.

hanging tent

So, plan ahead. By the way, don’t let the above sentence scare you; there is ample and safe accommodation available for wilderness and African safari lovers.

Transportation around town and to and from airports: Again, if it is a city you are visiting, this should not be much of an issue as you would have so many options to pick from. For example if you come from Australia just get your Limousine Hire Perth, then fly here and you will find a similar shuttle service by the airport, you can find the similar limo service in Ottawa reserve your limo today!

On the other hand, if it is a suburb or a rural area, it would be in your best interest to have this well taken care of before you buy a backpack. A busy tourist area would already have a lot of options open, but a less-frequented one may need proper and early planning to avoid some pretty unpleasant hassles.

Safety while your family is away: This is especially important if your travel adventure is a long way from home.

Make sure you have some type of first aid kit with you. Also, depending on the location, duration and other factors, you may want to bite into an insurance policy just in case.

Every year millions of people pack their backpacks and luggage and plunge into the world yet unknown and exciting to them. You can also make your own travel adventure hassle-free, enjoyable and a cherished memory if you follow these tips and more.

Crazy Comments from Online Travel Reviews

May 26, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment

Sometimes when I read reviews about hotels or restaurants before we go away I get some strange reviews. Some people will think a place is great, others not so much and it seems you have to read between the lines to figure out which is really true,

One thing I find is that some places are called too loud, or too many kids. These are the kinds of places we like to stay in with my wife and kids. The places that say they are quiet? Not usually a good fit.

Anyway I just ran across these quotes from actual hotel and other reviews. They are a little crazy and very funny

beach holiday

Actual Reviews For Hotels and Resorts

These are actual complaints received by Thomas Cook Vacations from dissatisfied customers.

1. “On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food.”

2. “They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax.”

3. “We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish.”

4. “We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price.”

5. “The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room.”

6. “We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow.”

7. “It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallartato close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’ time — this should be banned.”

8. “No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared.”

9. “Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers.”

10. “I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.”

11. “The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun.”

12. “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”

13. “I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends’ three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller.”

14. “The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the resort.’ We’re trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service, thankfully we took our jamaican black castor oil with us.”

15. “When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners.”

16. “We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning.”

17. “It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel.”

18. “I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes.”

19. “My fiancée and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked.”
