New York Free Family Fun
New York Free Family Fun
New York, besides being the city that never sleeps is also an excellent holiday destination. If you are thinking about a holiday in New York, but worried about the selection or availability of great family activities involving, let me put your mind at rest. There are many family activities in New York, which will appeal to all ages from toddlers to teenagers. Some of these great activities are surprisingly easy on the pocket despite New York’s reputation for being an expensive place to live and / or visit.

New York Free Family Fun

There are many ways the careful planner can enjoy the many attractions of this great city of little or no cost. Most museums offer free admission one night or one day each week. Check around and plan your trip to this museum in particular on free days and evenings. In addition, several of the museums offer a , pay what you want the policy, which allows it to offer a donation for entrance rather than having a fixed price that would exclude many visitors. Museums are a great way for everyone in your family to become a cultural idea of \his visit to New York, while the nights make this experience easier on the pocket.

In addition to these museums can also experience the technology of tomorrow at the Sony Wonder Technology Lab at no cost or take a stroll along the boardwalk of Coney Island. In the winter, try ice skating at Rockefeller Center. If you have time and inclination to Queens County Farm Museum offers free admission (except for special events, so be sure to check) and provides the family with a step back in time.

To really take a bite of the Big Apple to test the market in Union Square Green Market. In addition to fruits and vegetables are all sorts of delicious things to eat and drink. There are also many guided walking some (these tend to cost money) and many self-guided tours you can take through the neighborhoods of New York as well as some historical tours.

For a truly historical experience visit Federal Hall National Memorial. Admission is free and you will be able to see the history of America at its core. This is where George Washington took the oath of office and our form of democracy was born. For any fan of American history or a school age child is one of the gifts available to see in New York. Other national parks in New York that are of interest historically include Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Grant’s Tomb, and Fort Wadsworth. Each of these parks offer free access to the general public and make a great place for the whole family, not just to visit and enjoy, but also to learn about our history.

Wave Hill is another great place to visit. This tour is free during the week otherwise it is $ 4 for adults and $ 2 for children. Whether you go during the week or the weekend remains an excellent value for the price of your visit.

Of course this is just a small sample of the many things free and cheap to do in this great city. You definitely want to wear comfortable shoes for walking the many miles your feet will take in this fascinating city. In addition to the many family activities mentioned above, New York is home to some of the best parks in the world, they also provide recreational and cultural experiences for visitors.
I recommend you pay special attention to try to plan activities that are free and activities that cost little money with the other can not miss activities in similar areas. This will save time (a rather large when traveling around New York) and the money they pay in transportation fees. Planning your trip ahead of time is one of the most economical decisions you can make. This does not mean you can be flexible if you see something when you get there, just that you have a pretty good idea of \the things I really want to balance the reality of budget you have to do them all. Most importantly, have fun!
