Until fairly recently, European river cruises were very much considered a summer pastime. However, thanks to rising popularity European river cruise operators, such as Avalon European River Cruises, are now offering river cruises in Europe the year round. It is not hard to see why Europe river cruises are in demand. For starters, travelling by boat is by far more pleasant, relaxing and comfortable than going by bus, train, plane or automobile. Another reason for the newfound popularity for river cruises in Europe is that European river cruises give passengers unmatched access to remote reached of the globe. Although. perhaps the key cause for the rapid growth in the popularity of river cruises is that riverboats have begun to rival their ocean going brethren in terms of comfort, facilities, and style. Europe river cruise trips are available on a wide variety of vessels, ranging from nineteenth century six person boats to 250 passenger luxury cruisers complete with elevators, bathtubs, and on board restaurants.
