Skyservice out of business?

March 31, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Looks like the Canadian charter airline skyservice may be out of business.

The Skyservice charter airline has cancelled almost all of its scheduled flights out of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

Television station CP24 says the privately-owned company may have gone out of business, however that hasn’t been confirmed.

The Canadian Press has been unable to reach Skyservice for comment and a spokeswoman for the Greater Toronto Airport Authority has referred all questions to the airline. [Read more…] about Skyservice out of business?

Travel Movies that Make us Want to Travel

March 24, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

I was just reading an article over at CNN where they talk about travel movies movies that show us great places and make us want to travel just like the characters in the films do.

As well as obvious movies like Out of Africa and Roman Holiday, the article also mentions some not so obvious choices like Bourne Identity and Before Sunrise as great travel movies. Which by the way, you can now start watching netflix internationally since there are more options.

I am a big fan of travel shows but also I really like a movie that shows me what another place looks like to a traveler and not just a local. Interestingly the article seems to focus on a lot of movies that take place in the Tuscany area of Italy.

Myself I have loved lots of travel movies including the Indiana Jones movies, The Beach, and the Razors Edge.

Disneyland Enjoyment Tips

March 18, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

We went to Disneyland for the second time last week. We went a couple of years back when the kids where four and eight and now they are 6 and 10. Years ago the visit to Disneyland was a bit different than last week, we stayed in a motel down the street, we stayed for three days and we visited in the height of Summer.

This time the visit to Disney was different.

We really had a good time but this time it seemed really expensive and we had a time crunch. Here was the cost

  • $14 for parking
  • $280 for entrance fee
  • $75 for lunch
  • $20 for dinner

That may seem really expensive and it kind of was. For many families Disneyland is really inaccessible because of the price and last week our trip to Disneyland was more of a side trip in our holiday so the price seemed pretty shocking.

Let’s get away from what we paid and what we saved as well along with some fun tips [Read more…] about Disneyland Enjoyment Tips

Inside or Outside Cabin Choice for Your Cruise

March 8, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

One of the decisions you make when you book a cruise is whether to have an inside or outside cabin. Of course, the outside cabins are generally preferred because they have a window to the outside world. Inside cabins typically have no windows and are more confining, but in contrast they also tend to cost less.

The decision to have an outside or inside cabin is a matter of cost and personal choice. If money is an issue, then an inside cabin is one way to save on your vacation dollar. And, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing.

Whether or not you have an inside or outside cabin, you will be receiving the same services offered all over the ship. Your room steward will still service your room, make up the beds and keep it clean. You will still be able to get room service. You will still have your own private bathroom facilities.
